What is Microneedling?
At Be Beautiful Aesthetic Medicine, we understand the importance of customized skin care to help you achieve your unique skin care needs, and we offer both medical and cosmetic microneedling to help bring out the best in your skin. Medical microneedling is a gentle skin rejuvenation procedure using a handpiece with several tiny needles at the tip. It is different than cosmetic microneedling, which is done at shallower depths just prior to the application of your daily facial regimen. Cosmetic microneedling is an important step for the long-term health of your skin because it creates microchannels that drastically increase the absorption of nutrients that are essential to forming and maintaining soft, smooth, healthy skin.
Medical microneedling goes beyond forming microchannels for nutrient absorption. By adjusting the depth of the needles, medical microneedling penetrates beyond the epidermis, into the dermis, where it leads to the formation of healthy new collagen to plump your skin from the inside out. The effects of medical microneedling are too small to result in scarring but help create fresh new collagen (the main structural protein found in skin) and elastin (the main protein of elastic connective tissue) to enhance skin texture and radiancy. Medical microneedling has a broad range of applications, including the treatment of scarring, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin and global volume loss.

What Can I Expect from a Microneedling Treatment?
The area of treatment often determines how long the process will take. However, a microneedling treatment generally takes around 15 minutes. After the procedure, some patients may detect some slight redness or inflammation, but these side effects usually subside shortly afterward. While one microneedling session can provide significant results, we recommend multiple treatments in order for patients to achieve the best results.
